Yes. When Hollows attack others, their own reiatsu goes into their prey, as a way of weakening and marking them. However, when injured, Hollows use reishi to regenerate. They try to take in whatever is around them, but because we're both shinigami and Hollow, it doesn't quite work. The shinigami side won't allow for the reishi of a Hollow to be absorbed.

It's a bit worse in your case, because your Hollow is so strong, that pull is even stronger. Plus if the only source available is the very arrancar that injured you, then it really makes it harder for you to heal. Understand?

You're saying that basically, the shinigami in me won't let Ggio take from that part of me, but the Hollow in me is feeding him? Not just feeding him, either, but sort of...I'm not sure...making sure it's me, and only me that is feeding him?

Yeah, I could see where that could make healing a problem.

Not quite. Arrancar feed off whatever they can get, from any kind of soul. The shinigami part of you is why you can't take in Hollow reishi to heal yourself, although sharing your own makes it harder, too. Um, but what you just said... Ichigo, that sounds like you're wanting to mark that arrancar - this Ggio, as your own.

That... makes it different. What's going on between you two to make you say that?

Calm down! I don't think it's anything you can help, and it's not all bad. It's happened before, at least between us. Nothing we really talk about between any of us, and we never told you, but well - other urges got stronger too, besides just to fight. You know?

I guess you're doing this because you - or your Hollow - wants Ggio to stay with you. And he'll do it because you're stronger, and it's safe. That's the best way I can put it, because... that's how it is with me and Kensei. And it's okay.

I can't bring him back to Karakura with me...I mean, where would he even stay? And, if Byakuya found out then it could get really ugly, really fast.

Well yeah. Hollows are closer to animals than humans. All instinct and stuff- um. But you're a Vizard, and he's an arrancar...

To be honest, with me and Kensei - I try not to put a word to it or anything. It just... is. I deal with it by letting him be the strongest, because he is, and I know he won't use that power to hurt me. It should be scary but I know that won't happen again, not to me or him. We won't let it. That's why the urge to fight is there, really. Somewhere underneath it all.

Anyway, it's good you're being careful. I'm not sure what to do with two captains on the community, and your shinigami friends too. I think the best you can do is keep him where he is, and I'll talk to Hachi about finding some way to store your reishi. Although Ichigo, your reiatsu sort of leaks all the time, couldn't he just take it whenever he wants? Blood is just more concentrated reishi for shinigami and arrancar, but in your case since you have so much he should be fine with reiatu.
