Shiro wasn't happy. He'd have put up a much bigger fight about being carried back, but he didn't have the energy to do it. He didn't have the energy to do anything but make a few scathing remarks, and when he finally did relent? Perhaps the most biting remark of all.
"Fine. Then carry me. It's your fault I can't walk on my own anyway."
And the rest of the journey had passed in silence. When they returned, dressed in whatever the Kuchikis had brought them, the Hollow had curled up on himself and fallen back asleep. Decidedly sleep, NOT near-death coma. Curled up with his back to Ichigo.
A year. He'd sat on his ass and done, what, nothing? For a year? What was that bullshit. Shiro barely slept because he was thinking about it so much. He's only lightly sleeping when Ichigo decides to touch his hair (like nothing happened) and the hollow twitches a bit. But he doesn't hear a word of what Ichigo thinks. Sort of vague inklings of feelings, emotions, pinging in the back of his mind, but nothing concrete. Easily ignored. Their bond was still weak, which is why Shiro hasn't changed his appearance. He still appeared exactly as he did the last time Ichigo had seen him
He doesn't respond to Ichigo's affections at all. Just sneers and pretends to still be asleep. You have to talk before you get anything out of him.
